Arie Sparrenboom, the former Chairman of the Board of the Slingeland Hospital in Doetinchem, has already driven 60000 kilometres in his Mercedes 190SL.
I bought this car in 2006 and had it technically restored by the Van Dijks. After that the car handled much more smoothly and felt so reliable that I decided to have them maintain the car at regular intervals. They are painstakingly precise and accurate, but that also means you are safeguarded against technical faults. Sometimes I drive more than 12000 kilometres a year. This can easily be done, even with a car that is 55 years old. Many 190SL’s spend their days in garages, waxed and polished. What a waste! Drive those things! That is what they were made for.
